Provins and Its City Walls

City of Art and History

While staying at our campground in Seine-et-Marne, be sure to visit Provins, a magnificent town listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and also designated a “City of Art and History.” Provins is known for its dozens of monuments, historic mansions, and medieval fortifications, which never fail to amaze visitors of all ages.

Discover the history of a city unlike any other

Located in the Champagne region, the town of Provins was once considered an important commercial center thanks to its Champagne Fairs. The economy was so prosperous in the 12th and 13th centuries that it enabled the Counts of Champagne to build a 5-kilometer-long rampart there, which served both to protect the city and to demonstrate their power.
